Videogame music is what got me started with guitar, enjoying scores from Nobuo Eumatsu (Final Fantasy music), Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross), Yoko Shimomura (Kingdom Hearts), Koji Kondo (Mario, Zelda), Michiru Yamane (Castlevania), Jesper Kyd (Assassin’s Creed), Christopher Larkin (Hollow Knight) - there’s a huge list of great music composers for games.

We’re going to treat learning guitar as a game.

This course is meant to take you from VERY BEGINNER to playing a song you want to learn.

Bob Harris brings to the table an incredible wealth of experience. His credentials are decades of playing and producing music for some very well-known guitarists and musicians.

Bob’s precise and detailed teaching style made our objectives of learning complex techniques—like tempo, natural harmonics, legato, speed, dynamics, pull-offs, and slides—easy to understand. Even for a senior citizen like me, who has never played any instrument.

But what really sets this apart is the way Bob has built a supportive community using Zoom. Unlike just watching recorded videos, we’re able to interact in real time with Bob and his assistant, Sharifu, for feedback and guidance.

Here is an honest review of Fireflies course. I am an older starting wannabe guitarist. I am embarrassed to tell about all of the online courses that I have bought and abandoned when things got too tough for me. I bought this course with the same hope that it would help me make some progress. This was the first time that I was able to memorize the song and actually play it through to the end, gaining skills I always had trouble doing and retaining. Other courses covered the same material but glossed over it quickly and did not get the fundamentals down before moving on.
